The Exhibition District is preparing for a major expansion, efficiency and sustainability project, opening up new opportunities for development and events

Umbria Fiere is preparing to launch a major expansion, efficiency and sustainability project, designed to open up new development prospects and further strengthen the role of the venue within the trade fair and conference landscape.

The project represents a strategic step in the relaunch and consolidation of Umbria Fiere. The Exhibition District currently extends across an area primarily comprising three exhibition pavilions, with a total covered surface of 13,600 square metres, approximately 35,000 square metres of outdoor areas that can also be used for exhibition purposes, and a Conference Centre with capacity for 600 people. With the aim of increasing both the volume and quality of the activities hosted, a broad-ranging project has been defined, which will initially involve the construction of a new prefabricated industrial building.

The new building, characterized by a clean and linear design, will integrate harmoniously with the aesthetics of the existing structures, helping to create a consistent and coordinated architectural landscape across the entire District. The new facility will also feature a perimeter canopy which, in addition to providing protection from the weather, will gradually serve as an element of connection and continuity between the different buildings, improving the visual uniformity of the complex and making entrance areas easier to identify.

The project will be completed by the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the new building, which will progressively support the expansion of the facility and strengthen Umbria Fiere’s commitment to energy sustainability.

Umbria Fiere is thus opening up to new growth opportunities. On the one hand, it will be able to respond more effectively to the needs of its established events, which over the past ten years have recorded a steady increase in the surface areas and services required. On the other, the expansion and improved functionality of the spaces will allow the overall offering to be further diversified. Alongside traditional trade fairs, the District will be able to host corporate meetings, conferences, conventions, festivals, concerts, gatherings, sports competitions and cultural and social initiatives, increasing the number of days the facility is used each year.

“This,” says Valter Sirci, Sales and Marketing Director of Umbriafiere S.p.A., “is an enhancement and redevelopment project that fully values the original vocation of the Exhibition District. It is a coherent evolution that enables the facility to align with the development path undertaken in recent years by the leading exhibition centres at national level.”
