Record requests. All sectors and supply chains represented in one large exhibition space
The 57th edition of Agriumbria, the national exhibition-market of agriculture, livestock farming and food, scheduled from 27 to 29 March 2026 at the Bastia Umbra exhibition hub, was presented on Tuesday, 17 March in Perugia, at the Hall of Honour of Palazzo Donini. Present were Simona Meloni, Councillor for Agricultural and Agri-Food Policies of the Umbria Region; Erigo Pecci, Mayor of Bastia Umbra; and Antonio Forini, President of Umbria Fiere SpA.
As Simona Meloni explained: "The agricultural sector plays a strategic role in Umbria's economic development and in the growth of our territories. It is a cross-cutting sector, affecting various regional areas and policies. However, we are going through a complex phase, marked by geopolitical tensions, rising raw material costs and the increasingly evident effects of climate change, factors that significantly affect agricultural and livestock enterprises. In this context, Agriumbria represents one of the main appointments in the sector at national level and a point of reference for central Italy.
For this year's edition we have introduced some important new features, starting with a technical pre-opening event dedicated to dialogue among institutions, trade associations and operators. On the 26th, at Umbriaflor in Spello, we will invite the entire agricultural world to engage operationally on the sector's strategic issues. We have also planned the renewal of the regional stand, which will host educational moments and opportunities for dialogue among the various players in the agricultural supply chain.
A further sign of the event's growing centrality is the patronage obtained from the National Commission for Agricultural Policies, which recognizes Agriumbria's important role in the Italian exhibition landscape. Agriculture is not only an important economic sector, but a fundamental safeguard for the social stability of territories, food security and sustainable development, helping to strengthen the sense of community and preserve Umbria's very identity."
As the Mayor of Bastia, Pecci, explained: "Today there is a new and stronger awareness of the value of Agriumbria and Umbria Fiere, an awareness that had partly been lost and is now once again shared. Umbria Fiere is increasingly establishing itself as a strategic hub for development and planning, not only as the venue for important events and fairs, but also as a service center and a place where projects for the territory are developed. Fairs have changed and, with them, so has the role of the exhibition center, which is increasingly becoming a place of exchange, discussion and growth. The numbers confirm this path: Agriumbria has grown from around 60,000 to the current 90,000 visitors, a clear sign of its appeal and of the relevance Agriumbria continues to represent."
Antonio Forini, President of Umbria Fiere, opened and closed the presentation: "Agriumbria is today a point of reference in the national agricultural landscape and is much more than a simple trade fair: it is a place of meeting and discussion among companies, breeders, institutions and sector operators called upon to face crucial challenges such as climate change, sustainability and technological innovation.
This event is a true development platform for the agricultural sector, capable of generating value for the territory thanks to dialogue among supply chains. At the same time, it stands out for its deeply "popular" dimension, able to involve not only operators but also families, young people and citizens, as demonstrated by the more than 90,000 visitors recorded at the last edition.
The 57th edition is part of an important phase of expansion and modernization of the exhibition district, which we are addressing with a significant organizational effort. Despite this, we have managed to increase the number of exhibitors and confirm the centrality of livestock farming, while also introducing new meeting opportunities, spaces dedicated to young people and a rich program of initiatives and conferences. Agriumbria continues to grow because it is rooted in a solid and concrete sector and confirms itself as a reference appointment for Italian agriculture, a place where dialogue and collaboration help build the future of the sector."
