From 5 to 7 April 2024, Italian agriculture will gather in Umbria for the 55th edition of Agriumbria, announced as the largest ever. The main new feature is the New North Area, a new exhibition area of over 20,000 square meters that will host the wood supply chain and demonstrations of agricultural machinery in motion.
The new North Area will not only redesign the layout of the fair, but will also make it possible to welcome more than 50 new exhibitors. As Stefano Ansideri, President of Umbriafiere SpA, the body that organizes Agriumbria, explains: "This expansion means being able to respond to those entrepreneurs who have been knocking at our gates for years; it means being able to welcome companies that in past editions were unable to participate; it means offering visitors a broader and more varied range. It is a first step toward the expansion, modernization and functional redevelopment of the regional exhibition center." The 55th edition will therefore host more than 450 companies representing over 2,800 brands. As usual, great space will be dedicated to livestock farming, with the fair confirming itself as the Italian Meat Hub. The new spaces will allow Agriumbria to enhance existing product sectors by increasing the area dedicated to them. A demonstration area will be devoted to the forestry sector, a true innovation aimed at farms in mountain and Apennine areas.
Agriumbria will host the many different forms of Italian agriculture and all the productive and commodity sectors connected to them. "We may be used to thinking of agriculture as a single entity," Ansideri continues, "but the protests of recent days reveal how diverse the agricultural world actually is. In the simplifications that often accompany coverage of the protests, the idea has emerged that farmers are against some of the most important policies to combat climate change. In reality, the issue is much more complex, and the unrest of recent days is the result of years of economic uncertainty. We are convinced that constructive dialogue can provide answers. At the fair, we work to show all the tools and technical and technological means that are useful for companies to work at their best: this is our mission."
Now in its 55th edition, with more than 85,000 visitors over the last two editions, the Umbrian fair represents a national point of reference for enhancing the agricultural sector and constitutes a moment of discussion and reflection on the prospects and future of agriculture. The role of Agriumbria, the National Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock Farming and Food, is widely recognized by the main Italian operators, who see this event as the ideal place for agreements, contracts and synergies, making it the largest sector fair in central and southern Italy.
